On September 4, 2020, a steppe fire was discovered on the territory of the Shcherbakty rural district with a threat to the 131st quarter of the Kokterek forestry, the Beskaragai branch. 2 paratroopers-firemen of Pavlodar aviation department were landed to the place of fire to help ground forces. Thanks to the coordinated actions of all services, the fire was localized, the threat to the State Forest Fund was removed. The area of ​​the fire was approximately 150 hectares.
