On September 21, 2020, during an aviation patrol of the territory protected by the Akmola aviation department, a steppe fire was discovered with a threat to the 42nd quarter of the Stepnogorsk KSU. The forces and means of the Akmola aviation department, the Stepnogorsk KGU and the Emergency Situations Ministry were sent to fight the fire element. The fire was localized over an area of 30 hectares.
