On May 27, 2022, during an aviation patrol, employees of the Borovsky aviation department discovered 3 fires, in the Barmashinsky and Borovsky forestry of the Burabai State Unitary Enterprise and in the Urumkai forestry of the Urumkai KSU. Information about the fires was transmitted to ground services to extinguish the fire and prevent its further spread. Paratroopers-firefighters of the Borovsky aviation department were involved in extinguishing fires in the territories of the Borovsky and Urumkai forest districts.

On May 26, 2022, 3 fires were liquidated in the territories of the Akylbay, Barmashinsky and Zolotoborsky forest districts of the State Enterprise "Burabay". Paratroopers-firefighters of the Borovsky aviation department and employees of the ground forest guard with equipment were involved in extinguishing fires and preventing their further spread.
THE BEGINNING OF FOREST AVIATION WORKS BY THE KARKARALA AVIATION DEPARTMENT

On May 27, 2022, specialists of the Karkaraly aviation department, together with representatives of the Karkaraly State Natural Park, performed the first flyby of the protected area. During the air patrol, radio communication with forestry departments and inspectors of the KGNPP, the numbering of cordons was checked. An inspection of the condition of fire-fighting roads and mineralized strips serving as barriers from the spread of possible grass-roots fires and reference lines for the localization of active foci was carried out. The situation was clarified after the annealing. During the inspection of the GLF territory, no fires and violations of the environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan were detected.
ON MAY 26, 2022, ON THE TERRITORY OF THE UST-KAMENOGORSK AVIATION DEPARTMENT, AIRBORNE TRAINING OF THE LANDING AND FIRE GROUPS OF THE UST-KAMENOGORSK, RIDDER AND KATON-KARAGAI AVIATION DEPARTMENTS TOOK PLACE

The personnel of the Ust-Kamenogorsk, Katon-Karagai and Ridder aviation departments underwent aerial training in order to thoroughly and comprehensively prepare, work out all the elements of descent, study various techniques and training on their implementation. The practical skills of the "forest special forces" were tested by experienced mentors - the head of the air fire service, heads of aviation departments and observer pilots.
It should be noted that it is not always possible to get to the area of an active forest fire by land transport, and when delivering forces and means by aviation, it is necessary to pick up a platform for a safe landing. In such cases, it is decided to land troops in the area of the fire with the help of a helicopter. The pilot-observer from the air selects a platform suitable for the descent of paratroopers- firefighters, measuring at least 5x5 meters between the crowns of trees.
It is worth noting that such training descents are held annually - at the beginning and middle of the fire season. It is extremely important to recall the methodology of helicopter descents after the winter break and consolidate the acquired skills, because this is one of the foundations of the safety of forest aviation operations.
The helicopter hovers over this "well" at a height of at least 10 meters above the treetops (while the height to the ground should not exceed 45 meters). The observer pilot opens the door and drops a particularly strong (900 kg at break) 50-meter cord, along which, with the help of a roller trigger device, paratroopers-firefighters descend directly from the helicopter to the ground.
During the training, the interaction of the observer pilot and paratroopers-firefighters, the descent speed (average - three meters per second), the correct landing and much more are monitored.
Also, the observer pilots practiced the accuracy of draining water to the fire with the help of a spillway device (APU). It is worth noting that working with a spillway device is difficult and dangerous and requires high training of flight personnel.
