On June 14, 2020, a large steppe fire occurred on the lands of the Zhalgykkaragay rural district. There was a threat of the transition of fire to the territory of the state forest fund. The forces and means of the Akmola aviation division, KSU FDA "Kenes", KSU FDA "Barap", KSU FDA "Stepnogorskoye", and the emergency department of Akkol district were thrown into the fight against the fire element. The fight against fire lasted until late at night.

Thanks to the promptly taken measures, the fire was eliminated without damage to the state forest fund on an area of 300 hectares. In total, 38 people were involved in the elimination of the fire, among them 6 paratroopers-firefighters of the Akmola aviation department, a helicopter, 8 pieces of equipment.
