On May 11, 2020, a steppe fire was discovered in the buffer zone of the Bayanaul GNPP with a threat to the 19th quarter of the Zhasyby forestry. The forces and assets of the Bayanaul State National Natural Park and the Bayanaul aviation branch were thrown into the fight against the fire element. Thanks to the coordinated actions of all services, the fire was stopped, the threat to the State Forest Fund was removed. The fire was eliminated on an area of ​​0.7 hectares.
