On September 22, 2019 there was a forest fire in the territory of 39, 43, 44 quarters of Zhasybai forestry, Bayanaul GNPP. Due to strong winds, the fire quickly spread to other quarters of the forest. Extinguishing the fire was complicated by difficult terrain, strong gusts of wind (up to 18 m/s). To extinguish the fire, first-class helicopters Mi-171 with a spillway device on the external suspension and Mi-8 of the RSE "Kazavialesoohrana"were involved. The fire was monitored from the air. After a long and persistent struggle with the fire element, the spread of the fire was stopped on an area of 88 hectares. more than 140 people (including paratroopers-firefighters of Bayanaul and Ust-Kamenogorsk aviation departments), 38 pieces of equipment took part in the localization of the fire.
