On May 24, 2022, on the territory of the Ile-Alatau State National Natural Park, tactical and special exercises to extinguish natural fires "FIRE-2022" were held. Prior to the fire-tactical exercises, an inspection of the readiness of fire-fighting equipment, fire extinguishing equipment and personnel was carried out.
According to the legend of the exercise, during the air patrol of the mountainous part of the Zailiysky Alatau, a pilot-observer of the Almaty aviation department discovered a fire in the gorge of the Malaya Almatinka river basin.
The pilot-observer of the Almaty aviation department transmits information about the fire to the republican dispatch service of the Republican State Enterprise "Kazavialesoohrana".
With the help of loudspeakers installed on the plane, vacationers are notified about the created dangerous situation in which it is necessary to leave the territory of the tract.
Information about the fire is transmitted to the unified duty and dispatch service of the Department of Emergency Situations in Almaty and the central fire communication point of the Center for Operational Control of Forces and Means "SPiASR" of the Department of Emergency Situations in Almaty.
Strong winds and dry weather contribute to the rapid spread of fire in the forest area.
A Mi-8 helicopter with a spillway device on an external sling arrives at the fire site and makes targeted water discharges onto the fires.

After "several" hours of stubborn struggle with the fire element, the active edge of the fire was stopped in all areas, work is underway to localize and extinguish individual fires, conditional fires are localized in all directions.
The gathering of additional formations in the camp is announced. The head of the operational firefighting headquarters announces the elimination of the fire. Based on the results of the fire-tactical exercises, a meeting of the operational headquarters was held with the involvement of the heads of all functional groups, where an analysis of the course of the exercises was carried out and its results were summed up.
In total, more than 140 people, more than 25 units of special equipment, 2 quadrocopters, 2 helicopters, 1 aircraft were involved in the exercises.
According to the organizers of the exercise, these events are held to develop the skills of extinguishing forest fires in conditions as close as possible to real ones, perfecting all the nuances that may arise during the elimination of a real fire, the interaction of all operational services and ensuring the safety of fire extinguishing.
