Historical background

The history of this environmental action dates back to 1840 in the United States. One of the residents of Nebraska decided to green the state. This idea was happily accepted and at first called this event as "Tree Day". But in 1970, the holiday was renamed "Earth Day". Since 1990, the campaign has received international status and covered the entire planet under the name "March of Parks".

Kazakhstan has been celebrating this day every year since 1996. And in 2010, our country has its own symbol of the "March of Parks" - a tulip. This flower is a symbol of the steppe expanses of Kazakhstan, spring and rebirth.

The "March of Parks" is a holiday designed to raise the prestige of the nature reserve business, it is a way to involve people in the environmental activities of nature reserves and national parks, to awaken in the minds of our compatriots a sense of pride in our national heritage. Ecological balance is a necessary condition for the survival of mankind.
